GridLinz produces the worldwide popular Salem brand mats, rulers, and several quilting accessories. Started in California in 1979, Salem was the first American made mats and has continued to be a favorite among serious quilters and sewers alike. The wide and deep colored markings make them easy to read and are not too busy with lines and numbers that most quilters and sewers never use. The soft polyethelene material reduces rotary blade wear yet the mat self-heals after each cut. The soft formulation allows you to pin patterns or projects down to prevent slipping or sliding as you cut. With the aid of a pressing cloth you can iron on top the mat. Just hand a press cloth over the side of your table and flip it up an onto the surface and iron or press those seams or wrinkles.
